The inspiration for my current body of work originates from a desire to elevate awareness about the interdependent relationship between humans and water through sculptural interpretation of statistical water data. My design process employs the language of data graphics - such as charts, plots, and graphs - as a means for three-dimensionally representing complex ideas about water in tangible forms. Filtering out the analytical, this work simplifies complex data information into shapes and forms that engage the body through intuitive understanding of sculptural forms. The intention is to create a participatory space for viewers to contemplate ideas about water and their connection to it as an essential part of the natural landscape.
